These terms are an agreement between you and M2W Technologies Private Limited (Man2Web), India, who build and run Chalkpis. By creating an account or using the app you accept them. Questions: hello@chalkpis.com.
The service
Chalkpis helps tuition and coaching centres, abacus, karate, dance and yoga classes, sports academies and other teachers keep student records, attendance and fees, send WhatsApp updates to parents, make receipts, reports and posters, and share a private parent page.
Your account
You sign in with your mobile number and a one-time code. Keep your phone secure; you are responsible for what is done with your account, including by helpers you invite.
You must give correct details and be at least 18 years old.
Your data and your responsibilities
You own the information you enter. You give us permission to store and process it only to run Chalkpis for you, as described in the Privacy Policy.
You confirm that you have the parent's consent to keep their child's details and to send them messages on WhatsApp, and that the details you enter are accurate.
Use parent messages only for genuine tuition updates. Do not send spam, unlawful, misleading or offensive content.
Fees paid by parents
Parents pay you directly through your UPI id or your own payment page. Chalkpis is not a party to those payments, does not hold the money and is not responsible for refunds or disputes between you and parents. Check that your UPI id is correct.
Plans and billing
New accounts start with a free trial; no payment details are needed for it. Prices and limits of each plan are shown before you pay.
In the iPhone and Android apps, plans are monthly or yearly subscriptions bought through the App Store or Google Play. They renew automatically at the price shown until you cancel, and are charged to your Apple ID or Google account. You can cancel or change a subscription at any time in your Apple ID or Google Play settings, at least 24 hours before it renews; the plan then runs to the end of the period already paid. If an introductory price is shown (for example a lower first month), it applies once and the subscription then renews at the normal price. Refunds for these purchases are handled by Apple or Google under their own policies.
On our website, plans are monthly or yearly subscriptions that renew automatically by UPI Autopay or a card mandate you approve on Razorpay's page, until you turn auto-renew off on the website or cancel the mandate in your UPI app or with your bank. The first payment is taken when your free trial or current plan ends (when you upgrade, at once, with the unused days of your old plan credited), then at the start of every month or year; you are told before each payment. If an automatic payment fails it is retried, and if it keeps failing your plan simply ends on its paid date. A yearly plan can also be paid once, without auto-renewal. If you have days left on a free trial or a website plan when you subscribe in the app, those days are kept and resume after the subscription ends.
When a plan ends, your records stay readable but you cannot add or change them until you choose a plan again.
WhatsApp messages
Messages are sent from our business number using templates approved by WhatsApp. Delivery depends on WhatsApp and the parent's phone; we cannot promise that every message is delivered or read.
Acceptable use
Do not try to access other accounts, break or overload the service, copy the app, or use it for anything illegal. We may suspend accounts that do.
Availability and changes
We work to keep Chalkpis available and your data safe, with daily backups, but the service is provided "as is" and may sometimes be unavailable. We may improve or change features; we will give notice of important changes.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses, lost income or lost data, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 3 months before the claim.
Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time in the app. We may close accounts that break these terms. On deletion your data is removed as described in the Privacy Policy.
Law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of India have jurisdiction.
